Welcome to the University of Pretoria, and thanks for choosing UP! The Faculty of Education is set in its own beautiful campus and surroundings at UP’s Groenkloof Campus, a stone’s throw away from the Hatfield Campus. Our campus gives you access to some of the best infrastructure, libraries, laboratories, sports facilities and lecturers, which all help to prepare our students for future work opportunities in South Africa and beyond.

Our professional programmes in education are relevant and internationally recognised and accredited. We produce competent teachers of a high calibre with an excellent, in-depth knowledge of their subject fields.

The Javett Art Centre

With one foot firmly rooted in academia, and the other embedded in the public, the Javett-UP makes the Pan-African Artistic practices accessible, relevant and engaging. The building is on the south campus of the University of Pretoria and connects the Hatfield campus to the South Campus via a bridge over Lynnwood Road. International Students

The University of Pretoria (UP) enhances its international standing through multifaceted internationalisation programmes. The programmes are facilitated and coordinated by the International Cooperation Division (ICD), who ensure that the doors of UP are always open to international students, academics, administrative staff, collaborative researchers, policymakers, funding organisations and other stakeholders. On average, UP has over 4,000 international students annually.

The internationalisation programmes spearheaded by the ICD include:
